      • GOLD

        Gold prices fell on Wednesday as the dollar firmed against the yuan after the United States threatened to impose additional tariffs on Chinese goods, escalating trade tensions between the world’s two largest economies.

        Oil prices fell on Wednesday, with Brent dropping by more than $1 at one point, after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to levy new trade tariffs on China.

        The Reserve Bank of India monetary policy committee struck a balanced note on its rate stance going forward and cited rising inflation pressure due to high oil prices as the key reason for raising interest rates in the June meeting, according to minutes of the meeting released by the RBI.

        The Trump administration raised the stakes in its trade war with China on Tuesday, saying it would slap 10 percent tariffs on an extra $200 billion worth of Chinese imports.

        Indonesia has overturned its ban on Chinese video app Tik Tok after it agreed to censor “negative content”.Ministry of Communications spokesperson Noor Iza told Reuters the app was unblocked by the government on Tuesday.
