      • ASIAN MARKET

        Most Asian share markets rose on Friday, heartened by gains on Wall Street fueled by expectations of strong U.S. earnings, but China’s markets wobbled as investors braced for the impact of broadening, tit-for-tat Chinese-U.S tariffs.
         
      • GOLD

        Gold prices were muted on Friday, stuck in a tight trading range as the dollar extended gains from the previous session when strong U.S. inflation data and trade war concerns boosted demand for the greenback.
         
      • OIL

        Oil prices edged lower on Friday and were set for a second weekly fall, as the market shrugged off a warning that spare capacity may be stretched as OPEC and Russia increase production.
         
      • INDIA

        Pay revisions, interest payments and farm loan waivers are stressing state government finances yet again, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said in a report.
         
      • DOLLAR

        The dollar was buoyant near a 10-day peak on Friday, supported by Treasury yields that edged higher on expectations the U.S. inflation rate will rise.
         
      • CRYPTO CURRENCY

         Bitcoin tumbled  as its attempt to rise above $7,000 was met with a wave of selling pressure and prompted traders to pull their funds from the crypto market, while reports that two new digital currency exchanges have been accredited by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) received some focus.
      • RBI

        The Reserve Bank of India monetary policy committee struck a balanced note on its rate stance going forward and cited rising inflation pressure due to high oil prices as the key reason for raising interest rates in the June meeting, according to minutes of the meeting released by the RBI.

      • US

        The United States accused North Korea on Thursday of breaching a U.N. sanctions cap on refined petroleum by making illicit transfers between ships at sea, according to a document seen by Reuters, and demanded an immediate end to all sales of the fuel.

      • MEXICO

        Mexico is opposed to a U.S. request to make people seeking asylum in the United States apply in Mexico instead, according to a source and a briefing note, in a setback to U.S. efforts to deepen cooperation on immigration before a leftist president takes office.

      • CHINA

        China’s exports unexpectedly accelerated in June and its trade surplus with the United States hit a record high in a positive sign for the economy, though the overall result looks set to keep a bitter trade dispute with Washington on the boil for a while longer.
         

      • SOUTH KOREA

        South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Friday urged North Korea and the United States to move forward on a pact to end Pyongyang’s nuclear programme.

      • JAPAN

        Japan’s Financial Services Agency is set to issue business improvement orders against a subsidiary unit of Concordia Financial Group Ltd over illicit commissions and other breaches.

      • EGYPT

         Egyptian courts on Thursday sentenced 31 people to death in two separate cases, one involving the killing of a policeman and a security guard in 2015 and the other related to a 2016 prison escape.
